Samaël is a guitarist and instrumental composer from New Brunswick, Canada. He was introduced to the guitar at the age of 12. His innate talent and strength of character helped him learn the instrument quickly and allowed him to already share his passion 5 years later as a teacher. His diverse path and openness to different musical styles proliferates an unprecedented versatility favoring the transfer of his achievements to multiple students, novices to advanced!

He perfected his musical knowledge at the prestigious Musicians Institute where he obtained an associate degree in guitar performance in 2010. Subsequently, he obtained a bachelor's degree in classical music at Concordia University and a master's degree in musicology at the University of Montreal.

It was in 2010 that he made his debut on the musical scene with Canadian metal bands, either as a guitarist for Aeon’s Fall (2010-2015) and for Karkaos (2013-2018). His desire to surpass himself leads him to vacate his musical groups to invest in his own artistic project. It is therefore in 2014, that he offers us his first fingerstyle album, Halcyon Night. Which was followed by Shadow (2018), his most recent album, which contains more mature compositions and in which Samaël seems to have found his musical identity. Shadow offers an introspective journey to the listener and gives the impression of a sonic approach resembling minimalism and film music rather than typical fingerstyle guitar.

A real archipelago of sounds, his compositions also earned him the right to be recruited by the Haut St-Jean Philharmonic Orchestra for two musical arrangements, including one of his compositions. His formidable talent and his artistic wealth as well as his devotion also allows him to share the stage with the Acadian group, Sale Barbes, in 2021. He also participates in the fierce national competition, The Canadian Guitar Festival, twice, in 2015 and 2017 then performs several national tours as well as a coast-to-coast tour Canadian in 2018.

Very versatile, Samaël is certainly not afraid of challenges and rather sees them as an opportunity for improvement and learning! Whether for arrangements, compositions, co-productions, or educational services, Samaël will undoubtedly be able to immerse you in his ephemeral universe which awaken our senses to the depth unequivocally reflected from the complexity and dexterity of the artist.

Sa volonté de dépassement personnel l’amène à se délaisser de ses groupes musicaux afin de s’investir dans son propre projet artistique. C'est donc en 2014, qu'il nous offre son premier album fingerstyle, Halcyon Night. De ce projet s'en suit Shadow (2018), son plus récent album, qui contient des compositions plus matures et dans lequel Samaël semble avoir trouvé son identité musicale. Shadow offre un voyage introspectif à l’auditeur et lui donne l’impression d’une approche sonore similaire au minimalisme et à la musique de film plutôt qu’une approche de guitare fingerstyle typique.

Réel archipel de sons, ses compositions lui valent d’ailleurs d'être recruter par l'Orchestre Philharmonique du Haut St-Jean pour deux arrangements musicaux, dont une de ses compositions. Son talent redoutable et sa richesse artistique ainsi que sa dévotion lui permet d'ailleurs de partager la scène avec le groupe acadien, Sale Barbes, en 2021. Il participe également au concours national féroce, The Canadian Guitar Festival, à deux reprises, soit en 2015 et 2017 puis effectue plusieurs tournées à l’échelle nationale ainsi qu’une tournée Canadienne d’un océan à l’autre en 2018.

Très versatile, Samaël n'a certes pas peur des défis et y voit plutôt une opportunité de perfectionnement et d'apprentissage !
